Oxiris, the Samba Band from Wirral have performed at many festivals, events and carnivals since their formation in 2002. They perform regularly throughout the North West. They have taken part in 'Fated', a feature film starring Craig Charles, Brendan McKay (Touching The Void) Michael Angelis, Kate Robbins, Lee Boardman (ex Coronation St) etc. For the latest info on the film visit Ace Films. Samba drumming and dance gets everyone involved in a dynamic, fun, and educational activity. .The workshops are for beginners and no previous experience is necessary. As well as the weekly drumming and dance we hold various courses such as songs from the Brazilian culture, conga drumming, snare drum technique etc.. Oxiris perform exciting percussiive grooves in a variety of styles, from the 'batucada' carnival rhythms of Rio De Janerio to the Western Hip Hop and funk.
